Pre-start and changeover release sequence.

  1. Confirm line clearance. Remove previous format parts, samples, labels, packaging, tools and cleaning materials from the machine and surrounding line under the site's approved procedure.
  2. Install the selected format. Verify guides, rails, holders, pockets, grippers, nests, nozzles, heights and any format-specific transfer components against the change-part list.
  3. Check bottle presentation. Load representative samples and confirm stable infeed, retention, inversion or orientation, nozzle registration and discharge without damage.
  4. Release the utility route. Confirm air or water condition, pressure/flow, filters, dryers, drains, tanks, extraction and wastewater connections at the agreed point of use.
  5. Restore safeguards and controls. Confirm guards, interlocks, emergency stops, isolation status, sensors, permissives, alarms and recipe/settings under the approved safety procedure.
  6. Run and inspect first-off bottles. Check coverage, contamination/removal evidence where required, drain/dry condition, handling and the downstream handover.
  7. Record and release. Retain the accepted settings, sample result, deviations and authorisation before normal production begins.

What changes after maintenance?

Add the completed work order, replacement parts, restored guards/interlocks, utilities, leak check and first-off sample. Follow the manufacturer's instructions and site safe-isolation procedure before removing any lock-off or releasing production.

What changes after cleaning?

Confirm cleaning materials and residues are removed, drains and extraction are clear, parts are reassembled correctly and the utility route is released. Use an identified first-off sample before the batch begins.

What changes after a format change?

Record the installed change parts, recipe/settings, sensor and nozzle positions, holder/gripper arrangement and challenge bottle result. Do not rely on a previous format's accepted settings.

Change-control trigger

A routine approved changeover and a process change are not the same release decision.

A routine changeover uses previously approved parts, settings and checks. A new bottle, revised drawing, modified gripper, different nozzle, utility change, software revision or significant repair may fall outside that approved condition and require revalidation before routine production.
